VIDSHIFT

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Vidshift is operated from the United Kingdom and is the data controller for the personal data described below. Contact for anything privacy-related: support@vidshift.ai.

What we collect

Account data — your email address and sign-in details, handled by our authentication provider Clerk. We never see your password.

Billing data — payments are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer reference, plan, and credit history; we never see or store your card number.

Content — images and videos you upload, the prompts you write, and the videos you generate. Uploads and outputs are stored with our generation provider fal.ai; we keep a record of each job (inputs, consent confirmation, and output link) for billing and abuse prevention. If you upload images of people, you are responsible for having their consent — see the Terms.

Usage data — request counts for rate limiting and standard server logs (IP address, timestamps) kept by our hosting provider.

Why we process it

To provide the service you signed up for (contract), to prevent fraud and abuse and to secure the service (legitimate interests), and to meet tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation). We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising. Cookies are limited to what sign-in requires.

Who processes it for us

Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), fal.ai (video generation and media storage), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Upstash (rate limiting). Some of these providers are based in the United States; transfers are covered by their standard contractual clauses or UK data-bridge arrangements.

How long we keep it

Account, billing, and job records are kept while your account exists and for as long as tax rules require afterwards. If you delete your account, we remove content and account data not needed for those obligations.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict processing, and take your data elsewhere. Email support@vidshift.ai and we will respond within a month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
